PLANT‑0019 PLANTER

The PLANT‑0019 geometric planter manifests a dialogue between dynamic form and serene stability through its sculptural bilayer geometry and radial fin articulation. The upper segment features an array of precisely angled ribs, each slice positioned to create a sequential, undulating pattern that captures shifting light and shadow. These ribs emerge from a central ring and fan outward, articulating rotational symmetry while evoking a sense of latent motion. Beneath, the lower hemisphere tilts gracefully, serving as both structural anchor and visual counterpoint, grounding the composition in poised equilibrium. The interplay between the ribs’ kinetic rhythm and the base’s gentle arch fosters a spatial conversation, guiding the viewer’s eye along continuous curves and negative‑space apertures. Proportions adhere to harmonic scaling, ensuring the planter’s sculptural presence complements the organic silhouette of foliage without overwhelming it. The smooth, matte finish accentuates tactile engagement, inviting hands to trace its contours, while ambient light transforms the sculpted form into a dynamic play of layered shadows. By fusing rigorous geometric vocabulary with the innate vitality of plant life, PLANT‑0019 transcends mere functionality to become an interactive art piece that both anchors and enlivens interior spaces.

How are the planter made?

Modern 3D printing technology is used to produce the KAWAIR 3DESIGN planter.

This is how the extraordinary and delicate structure of the planter can be created - while at the same time being very light. We paid particular attention to sustainability and quality when it came to the material used. - a bio-plastic made from corn starch - we have paid particular attention to sustainability and quality.

What material are the planter made of?

The 3D planter from KAWAIR 3DESIGN are made of polylactide (PLA for short), which is also colloquially known as polylactic acid and is often referred to as  ''o-plastic''. PLA is made up of lactic acid molecules that are created during the fermentation of corn starch or sugar cane.

Although PLA does not grow on trees or bushes and is therefore produced synthetically, it is biodegradable due to its ingredients and is therefore a great alternative to non-degradable plastic with similar properties.

Why are high temperatures damaging the planter?

If the planter is exposed to high temperatures (e.g. in direct sunlight behind a window), the material can lose stability, causing the planter to warp. A series of tests carried out over a few weeks came to the conclusion that this can happen , but does not happen in every case.

However, we expressly point out that there is a possibility that the planter can deform at temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.

Can I put water in the planter ?

The 3D printing planter themselves are not waterproof due to their manufacturing process. Water would leak out through the planter. Since a planter wouldn't be a real planter if you couldn't offer a place to water a bouquet of fresh meadow flowers or a long-stemmed rose, there are our special waterproof inserts. Such an insert is supplied free of charge with every planter.

The insert is cylindrical and can be filled with water. Due to its narrow shape, it only has slightly less filling volume than the actual planter. So remember to place the insert before using the planter with water.

If the planter is only filled with dried flowers, you obviously do not need it - but you should of course keep it.

Can I have an item in a different colour/size?

All our items are homemade and can be made in a range of colours and sizes. If you can't find what you're looking for, or want something in a different selection, please drop me a message for custom requests.
